We also had to find a price that could keep the business going and still have funds for toys when they break. Not sure who to reach out to, with being such a new business. Trying to add fun classes to our space was hard as well. We paid out of pocket for “Rumpus Room” (Nido), but the space needed some upgrades and changes. It has not been a smooth road just like most small businesses, we have had many ups and downs. We love being able to help our community and can’t for one day to have a slightly larger space and even a second location.Īlright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome? We do all we can to make every event and party perfect for everyone. We may be a small space, but we are large in our hearts. We are not a space you drop your little one off and play on your phone but a space to have a great conversation with other families while allowing your child to play safely in a fun and learning environment.
We want our customers to feel at home and welcomed, like a nest. Nido stands for a nest in Spanish and Italian. I wanted a name that highlighted us as a family and our business. Here we are in 2022, now known as “Nido.” I changed our name on our 1st anniversary. It was a ride, and I still had so much to learn. I started as the new owner when I sold our bus and bought “Rumpus Room” on March 1, 2021. I grew to become friends with the owner, telling me she would like to sell, and I jumped on it immediately. We found “Rumpus Room,” and I was in a space I once dreamed about. We moved out of Upstate NY and back to TN to travel full-time in a renovated bus. I had everything ready in the year 2020 to set off and start my business.
That is where I started my journey as an Army veteran, I had access to many wonderful classes and information to help me build my business plan and what was next in this new journey. I quickly noticed the lack of places like this. Once I had my daughter in 2019, I knew I needed to create an indoor play space for babies and toddlers.
